Kansanshi Mining PLC has renovated and officially handed over the Solwezi Provincial Library at a cost of over K3.5 million. The upgraded facility now features modern digital services, including 28 computers and a solar power system ensuring uninterrupted learning and access to information.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Kansanshi Mining PLC General Manager Meiring Burger reaffirmed the mine’s commitment to education development in North-Western Province. The North Western Province Permanent Secretary Grandson Katambi officially opened the facility and encouraged educators to fully utilize the improved library services.
The Assistant Director of Zambia Library Service, Mrs. Sharon Munshya Liato, and Provincial Education Officer, Mr. Mukinyi, praised Kansanshi Mining PLC for its contribution to literacy and digital transformation. The renovation is a major milestone in strengthening education, research, and lifelong learning in the region.
